Exclusive Fishing
The focal point of
the Waverly Waters fisheries experience is a 70-acre impoundment, designed
by Bill Dance
and Dr. Marty Brunson. Established in 1991 and stocked with Florida strain
bass, coppernose bluegills, and chinquapin bream, Waverly Waters Lake
is scientifically managed to produce a premium, deep-south bass and bream
fishery. Myriad structure included treetops, stump fields, gravel beds,
creek channels and interconnected, excavated ditches. Fish attractors
and structure are strategically placed to take advantage of natural contours
and depth variations of 2 to 21 feet.
Angling is exclusively
controlled and limited to members only. Angler activity, success, and
harvest are closely monitored by a fisheries scientist, and fish population
status is assessed biannually to assure member of the maximal recreational
angling experience.
Maximum fertility
and production are ensured by a sophisticated fertilization and supplemental
forage program.
Additional smaller
impoundment at Waverly Waters contain trophy bream, channel catfish and
winter rainbow trout fisheries.
